From MMA victories to international tournament invitations in Thailand, our team has been gaining valuable experience both in and out of the ring since moving to Hamilton Street.

It's been a wild year since we moved to Hamilton Street. We've accomplished a lot. From MMA wins to being invited to compete in Thailand at an international tournament, the team has been busy gaining experience in and out of the ring.

Muay Thai Development League Officials Seminar

Earlier this year several of our Coaches traveled to Virginia to participate in a WBC officials seminar that ended with them working an MDL event. Jake, Fidel and Jerry worked the entire day judging and refereeing mock Muay Thai matches. This experience gives us an edge in competition, as the seminar focused on scoring fights and which techniques are legal and illegal under WBC Muay Thai rules.

2 Big MMA Wins at Art of War Cagefighting

We've been building a lot of momentum in the cage this year. Justin Ehredt and Fidel Raposo both had dominant performances in their Art of War MMA debuts. Justin dominated the fight from start to finish with a quick takedown in round 1 before dropping his opponent with a lead hook and jumping a closed guard guillotine in round 2. Fidel utilized our kickboxing system and outstruck his opponent in all 3 rounds to win a unanimous decision.

Justin returns to Art of War on June 14th in his lightweight MMA debut. He has his eyes on a title shot in the future so this will be a test he must pass.

International Kickboxing in Bangkok, Thailand for ISKA

Finally.. We were invited to represent Team USA at the 2025 Thailand Games in Bangkok, Thailand. Jerry Valme (8-2, WKA Champion, Cage Wars MMA Champion), Thomas Wilson (2-2, WKA Silver Medalist) and Ben Thieberger (2-1) will be competing against fighters from around the world in an ISKA Kickboxing Tournament. All 3 fighters have experience with tournament fighting so this opportunity to face elite competition from around the world will prove invaluable. They will be joined by Coach Jake who will lead the team.

We've received a lot of support from our community for this trip, which is the only reason we were able to go. We were able to fundraise about $1500 towards this trip thanks to our students and friends of the academy.

How Martial Arts Training Develops All Three Energy Systems

This article examines how martial arts training naturally develops your body’s three energy systems: the ATP-PCr system for explosive power, the glycolytic system for sustained high-intensity performance, and the oxidative system for endurance and recovery. Unlike traditional cardio that only targets one system, combat sports create superior conditioning by integrating all three pathways simultaneously. Understanding these energy systems explains why martial arts classes deliver more complete fitness results than conventional gym workouts.
